Dear JoAnne;
I wanted to get a note out to you to thank you for putting me in contact with Dr. Laser. It is so incredible that you should have suggested hypnotherapy. I had been thinking about trying it for a month or so but was somewhat reticent without a referral from someone.
As the birth of our second child was approaching, I was becoming more and more anxious. I kept thinking about the hard and difficult labor I had experienced four and a half years earlier and I knew that I wanted a much different experience this time around. I was far better prepared this time and I knew that my body would know instinctively how to deliver this child if I would only listen and trust in what it was telling me to do. I was very afraid that a hospital setting might not allow me the freedom of a more natural childbirth experience. Yet, we felt that it was important to have this child in a hospital with neonatal care because our first child was born with quite a few problems and there was the possibility that this child might as well.
As my due date was approaching, I found myself becoming more and more frightened. I was losing sleep and worrying constantly. After one session with Dr. Laser, I was actually looking forward to this birth!!! Many of the discomforts I was experiencing, that are often associated with the later stages of pregnancy, began to disappear. We had two session within the week before I delivered. Each time I left feeling more relaxed and confident.
When the day finally came, I was able to labor at home peacefully through the night and the morning. In the afternoon, my husband came home and sat with me in a quiet dark room and held my hand. The contractions suddenly became very close together. I thought I should take a walk around the block hoping they would become more regular. They were becoming more and more intense so I thought we should get off to the hospital. Ail the while, I was thinking that I had many hours of labor ahead of me. I thought if this got much worse I would need pain relief. I lead no idea that I was already in transition. We got to the hospital seven minutes before our daughter was born. My body began pushing instinctively at the right moment and at 6:00 pin on March 3, I gave birth to a 7 lb, 14 oz. healthy baby girl on the delivery room floor. Our doula arrived about fifteen minutes later.
My sessions with Dr. Laser completely transformed my birth experience. I felt very focused and in control of the situation. I was able to labor at home in comfortable surroundings and let go of the panic that I felt when I thought of my first birthing experience. I can't thank you enough for bringing me into contact with her. MY only regret is that I didn't seek you out sooner. What a wonderful service you have to offer! ! !
